CONFIRMATION AT HOPE To confirm is to make sure or make certain. Confirmation is a life-long process of daily living in and becoming more sure and certain of God's love for us through Jesus. This occurs through worship, prayer, and regular Bible study. Confirmation instruction, as it relates to the youth of Hope, is the continuation of a life-long habit of worshiping God and studying His Word. Scripture instructs parents, "Parents, raise (your children) with Christian discipline and instruction." (Ephesians 6:4). Proverbs 22:6 also states, "Teach a child how he should live and he will remember it all his life." The goals of Confirmation instruction are: 1. Bring children to a fuller understanding of what God gave them in baptism. Parents, church, or pastors alone cannot accomplish these goals. Only through the power of the Holy Spirit, working through church and home together, can this be accomplished. |
